Good morning Village Families,

This week is a short week for students and staff so I will try to keep this note short as well

  • Please note that if your child stays after school to play on the fields or playground, there is no supervision outside.

  • A reminder about dropping off student items during the school day: Students will be alerted they have something to pick up at their lunch period each day.  Messages will also be given at this time or students will be called to the office at the end of the day. Please remember to reserve student messages for emergency needs only.

  • User Fee for afterschool activities:  Please note that the user fee is now $125 as voted upon at school committee last year. There was a typo in the afterschool sports program.

  • Please remember to use crosswalks out front and observe “no parking” signs.  Modeling safe habits and obeying the rules of the road is important for our students. Thank you for your continued partnership on this.

  • OPEN HOUSE: This year, we are inviting students and their parents to join us for Open House!  Students will have the opportunity to show parents their classrooms from their perspective as well as an opportunity for teachers to speak about curriculum and general classroom rules and expectations.  Parents will have the opportunity to sign up for individual conferences at Open House.  Specialist teachers will be available for you to visit in their classrooms.  Parents and students in grade 4 are invited to join us in the auditorium at 6 PM for a quick welcome. Open Houses for 5th and 6th grade students and parents will start at 6:30 and families can proceed immediately to the classroom at this time.  We are hopeful this will be an enjoyable family night!

This week

  • Tonight at 7:00 pm. Bell, Coffin, Gerry, Feasibility Study Superintendent Perry, the Gerry School Building Committee, Leftfield and RDA invite you to share your thoughts and concerns with us as we move together towards the common goal of improved educational facilities for our students in the Marblehead High School Auditorium.

  • September 21st and 22nd:  Rosh Hashanah NO SCHOOL.

  • Village School After School Sports Program starts today!

Upcoming dates:

  • September 28th, 6 pm: Back to School, Open House Night!

Very truly yours,

Mandy Murphy
