Choose Kindness Motto
At Glover we have chosen our motto of "Choose Kindness." This is not just a catchy, politically-correct phrase. Our role as teachers, and I definitely include parents in this, is to teach our children to embody the concept of kindness which equates to caring for all human beings. Sharing, accepting, and respecting are the values we must develop in our students as a preparation for becoming world citizens. As Dr. Martin Luther King said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."
K-3 classes awarded Rocky and extra lunch privileges for exemplifying Core Values
During the March Community Meeting, Ms. Shevory read aloud while 4 volunteers drew what they interpreted the main character to look like.
It was a fun way to teach students how to visualize while reading.
